Dec 1–12
What happens
- Around 400 pilgrimages fill the streets over the twelve days, with banners, bands, Aztec dancers and floats.
- Groups march down Calle Juárez to the church; in the evenings Juárez closes to traffic and turns into a promenade of food and craft stalls.
- December 12 is the climax: the biggest processions, and at midnight the mañanitas are sung to the Virgin inside the church.
- The church itself, built from 1903, is crowned with a distinctive tiara-shaped top — the postcard view of Puerto Vallarta.

Local tips
- Go after dark any night of the twelve — it's a festive walk with street food, and you don't need a plan.
- Dress modestly if you step inside the church, and keep photos discreet during mass.
- For December 12, arrive early or watch from a café terrace on the Malecón side of Juárez — the crowd is dense.
