November through April is the dry season — low humidity, minimal rain, comfortable 24-28°C temperatures. Whale watching season is December to March. July-September is rainy season but beaches are uncrowded and prices drop 20-40%. Semana Santa (Easter week) and Christmas-New Year are peak season with full hotels.

Budget expats manage on $1,500-2,000 USD/month including a furnished 1BR rental in Centro or Versalles. Mid-range snowbirds typically spend $2,500-3,500/month with dining out regularly. Zona Romántica and Marina rentals run $700-1,500 USD/month furnished. Meals at local taquerías start at 40-80 MXN; tourist-zone restaurants run 200-500 MXN/person.
